I consider the birth of a child to be a miracle and one of the most significant events that takes place in a woman's life. As a Doula, I am allowed to participate and share this miracle every time I go to work. Life just does not get any better than that!
I believe with the support of trained professionals and a caring family, each of my clients can have the type of birth experience that they choose. Studies prove that women who have continuous support during childbirth have fewer medical interventions, less Cesarean births, and more positive outcomes during labor and birth. My objective as a Doula is to offer this loving, caring, and supportive environment for my client and their families. My desire is for my clients to cherish the birth of their babies in the most positive way possible.

I have over thirty years of experience in supporting mothers and their partners during childbirth. I abide by the Doula Code of Ethics and I am certified with CAPPA, DONA (also as postpartum doula), and the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practices. I continually update my education by attending other workshops and different series of both breastfeeding and child birth preparation classes. I am a volunteer for Operation Special Delivery, the Mary Jane Program and the Kalihi Family Health Center, OB/GYN/Midwifery. I am a member (currently president) of HCEA/DNH (Hawaii Doula Network and Referral Line) and currently hold the position of DONA Hawaii State Representative. I attended College in Chico, California for my formal education and degree.

On a more personal note, I am married and have 6 grown children (one set of twins) and 14 grandchildren. My own children were all born naturally and breastfed. If you are interested in hearing more about me, and/or how I work with my clients, I have references that are available upon request. Labor of Love Doula Services business license number is #W34316649-01. I look forward to meeting with you.
